Broadband and the Internet has transformed the industrial and economic landscape over the last ten years to the same degree that factories transformed the economy during the industrial revolution.
There is a high rate of technology adoption elsewhere amongst SME customers, SME competition, enterprise business, public sector, education and the home and this is on a worldwide basis - it is therefore a powerful source of competitive advantage.
That is why it is vital for our SMEs in the UK to be actively driving business transformation through adoption and leverage of these technologies.

The SME community generally get poor service from the IT industry due to the high costs of selling, servicing and supporting such a fragmented marketplace. Large national organisations tend to offer a “one size fits all” services and have little interest in individual requirements. While small local support companies can offer a personalised service they often lack the depth and quality associated with a national organisation. The result is it is often difficult and expensive for SMEs to find the quality support they need to fully adopt and leverage ICT, broadband and the internet.
